7 Gates Sanctuary (Portland, Oregon) is led by a team of integrative medicine practitioners, neuroscience PhDs, and visionary change-makers, nested in a network of radical therapists, naturopaths, and holistic practitioners.
7 GATES: A Different Model for a Different Future
We are a psilocybin health-equity collective rooted in Portland, Oregon — where legal journeys are supported by community, shaped by justice, and guided by the wisdom of mushrooms.
In a world where modern approaches to healing often fracture rather than restore, 7 Gates offers a different path: a living ecosystem for collective healing.
We are a facilitator-powered collective — a sanctuary where licensed psilocybin guides join as members, weaving their gifts into a shared healing network rather than working in isolation. Our model is designed to dismantle the barriers of traditional healthcare: fostering accessibility, mutual support, and regenerative community economics.
As integrative medicine practitioners and educators, we center nature-honoring methodologies as a way to repair fragmentation — within ourselves, within our communities, and within our greater living world.
We practice holistic, trauma-aware care that honors the complex interconnectedness of mind, body, spirit, ancestral memory, and the unseen energies that shape wellbeing.
We believe all bodies hold the innate capacity for healing when met with the right container, context, and compassionate support — and we see psychedelic mushrooms as potent, generous allies in this process.
Whether you come as a client, a facilitator, or a future collaborator, we welcome you into a growing web of care, reciprocity, and renewal. We look forward to meeting you and supporting your healing.

We are a team of co-founders and collaborators brought together by a shared commitment to deep healing, health equity, and the sacred potential of psilocybin to restore wholeness. We believe healing is not only personal, but collective — shaped by systemic forces, ancestral wounds, and unseen energetic realms that impact our health and wellbeing.
Our work at 7 Gates Sanctuary is rooted in the long-standing collaboration many of us began through our sister clinics, Be Well Holistic Health and TeamWorks non-profit, integrative neurology clinics designed to be accessible, inclusive, and radically supportive of people navigating complex health journeys. Our sister clinics offer sliding scale and Oregon Health Plan services, focusing on offering queer, chronic illness and injury and other marginalized experiences trade-based care for services like neuro-acupuncture, psychotherapy, naturopathic primary care, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, physical therapy, watsu, and more — all in a setting that honors the dignity of each person’s lived experience.
Dessa Bingley, our co-founder and Medical Director of both Be Well and Teamworks, brings deep roots in building accessible, mission-driven systems of care. Dessa is also a death doula and community builder focused on dignity, equity and systemic change.
Dr. Doug Wingate, DTCM, FMHC, L.Ac., MP-MPr, co-founder offers decades of experience in brain health, pain recovery, and integrative medicine grounded in both clinical science and personal healing. Dr. Wingate is one of the only licensed psilocybin facilitators in the U.S. specializing in personalized wellness solutions for neurological, emotional, and neuro-cognitive conditions, as well as acute and chronic pain.
Mars Aqueous, co-founder weaves together a decade of cultural strategy, ritual facilitation, and decolonial healing frameworks that honor the soul’s journey in times of transformation. Mars stewards the language, vision, and experience of the sanctuary, ensuring that our work stays rooted in relational, communal, and equity-driven healing.
Ashlee Turner brings over 15 years of leadership in agribusiness, nonprofit food distribution, and the medical cannabis world, where she has helped countless people understand the value of plant-based medicine. Her deep belief in community care and natural healing systems informs our ecosystem at every level.
Jenna Oakley, with 20+ years of experience in clinical operations and a fierce commitment to health equity, serves as both a licensed psilocybin facilitator and the first point of connection for new clients and facilitators. Her gift for creating trust, warmth, and clarity helps set the tone for every journey that begins here.
We are supported by a dedicated operations team and a growing constellation of licensed psilocybin facilitators — each committed to walking beside others in sacred, trauma-aware, and soul-honoring ways. Together, we are cultivating a sanctuary for collective healing, where no one is left behind.
who we are
our HOPE & COMMITMENt
We are committed to navigating the cultural complexity and transformative healing potentials of psilocybin treatment legalization with integrity, humility and accessibility.
- May we in the west find humble ways to integrate all original medicines in a good and integrous way into the trouble of this moment.
- May the mushrooms reach the spiritual crisis at the heart of modernity; may they interrupt the extractive systems that exponentially harm indigenous and communities of color while stealing their land, medicines and lifeways in the name of “progress” and “healing”.
- May we honor the indigenous communities and ecosystems psychedelic mushrooms belong to, as we integrate them in western contexts.
- May all sacred plants resist the shackles of patents; may they resist atomization and desecration; may they sprout seeds of resistance and accelerate the societal transformation we need. Now and now and now.
