psilocybin mushroom safety
How safe is psilocybin?
- The U.S. Department of Justice reports that “there is no evidence that users may become physically dependent on psilocybin.1
- Other studies report that psilocybin’s “lethal dose in humans has been theoretically estimated at approximately 1000 times an effective dose… an amount likely not possible for an individual to consume when in the form of psilocybin-containing mushrooms.”2
- What about HPPD (Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder – “flashbacks”?) this can occur with recreational LSD; there has not been a single case of HPPD associated with psilocybin in any research studies in controlled environments where product quality is known.
- Finally, studies have psilocybin mushrooms to be the absolute lowest on the scale of harm and potential for addiction, even compared to legal substances like tobacco and alcohol3:

psilocybin experience
How many times will I need to do this?
The impact of a psilocybin journey can vary widely from person to person.
While some individuals experience profound changes after just one journey, others find that developing an ongoing relationship with psilocybin mushrooms can lead to deeper and more sustained healing.
For some, this might involve periodic, seasonal or annual journeys, to continue the experience of growth and unveiling of more layers of healing.
Others say that just one mushroom journey helped them lift barriers and blocks to change, and now their other forms of care and therapy seem to be much more effective, as if they’ve unblocked a dam.
Still others choose to initiate a microdosing program after a macrodose, to continue expanding the brain changes and insights they received from the initial journey.
Can't I just eat psilocybin at home or in the woods by myself?
While consuming psilocybin in a natural setting like the woods or at home may seem appealing for its tranquility, the benefits of a structured and supportive environment are a better fit for many people.
Working with experienced guides or facilitators can enhance safety and ensure a more profound and transformative experience.
Our guides have decades of experience in various forms of healing, and can provide expertise in navigating the journey, offering personalized support to address your specific goals and concerns, and are trained to provide guideance especially during challenging moments that might arise during your journey, including fear, grief and other strong emotions.

Ultimately, choosing a professional setting with knowledgeable support can greatly enhance the quality and depth of your journey, compared to self-administration in less controlled environments.
